Pair of Beech "Eva" Chairs by Bruno Mathsson
Designed by Bruno Mathsson in 1934, this pair of "Eva" chairs (Model Mi 472) features laminated and bent solid beech frames with woven canvas sling seats and backs. The gently curved armrests and low, reclining profile create a light, sculptural silhouette, while the woven webbing provides flexible, comfortable support. Manufactured by DUX, the Eva remains one of Mathsson's most iconic designs and an enduring example of Scandinavian modernism.
Condition
Kindly note that the chairs are in vintage condition, exhibiting signs of age and wear. The beech frames show scattered scuffs, scratches, and finish wear, most notably to the armrests. The woven canvas seats and backs display areas of discoloration and light staining consistent with age and use. Both chairs retain the maker's mark on the rear stretcher. While we strive to capture the most significant marks in our photographs, some minor imperfections may not be pictured.
